最近经常听见有人在店里点这首歌，开始因为觉得旋律很特别的关系，稍微的留意了一下，居然在日本的卡拉OK的排行上排到了11位---据说上月甚至上到过推荐位的前5。

按说这是一首老歌了，甚至不能算是纯种的日文歌曲，维基百科一下，发现原曲的歌词应是英文的《Do not stand at my grave and weep》，作者据说是美国的一个普通的家庭主妇Mary Elizabeth Frye（1905-2004），而她之所以写下如此伤感的文字，则是为了纪念她的友人德裔犹太少女Margaret Schwarzkopf那与1932年在德国去世的母亲。（因为德国反犹风潮的影响，Margaret Schwarzkopf无法回国奔丧。）而Mary的《Do not stand at my grave and weep》原作如下：

Do not stand at my grave and weep,

I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am in a thousand winds that blow,

I am the softly falling snow.

I am the gentle showers of rain,

I am the fields of ripening grain.

I am in the morning hush,

I am in the graceful rush

Of beautiful birds in circling flight,

I am the starshine of the night.

I am in the flowers that bloom,

I am in a quiet room.

I am in the birds that sing,

I am in each lovely thing.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,

I am not there. I do not die.

这首诗很让Margaret Schwarzkopf家族以及其友人们感动，他们甚至把这首诗歌写到了明信片上，而据说以如此方式"刊行"的《Do not stand at my grave and weep》有了相当的修改：

Do not stand at my grave and weep

I am not there; I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,

I am the diamond glints on snow,

I am the sun on ripened grain,

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush

I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,

I am not there; I did not die.

这样的改动算是比较大了，比起Mary仓促之间的随笔----据说Mary是将此诗写在了一个茶色的纸袋上送给了自己的友人，可见这首诗并没有得到作者太多的推敲---文学的感觉，或者说是“诗”的味道更加的浓重了些，特别是最后一句，从“I do not die”到“I do not die.”，个虫认为相当的漂亮。

这样的修改也得到了Mary的认可，当然她本人也在此基础上做了进一步的修改，在她本人于2004年去世的时候，这首诗已经变成了这个样子，

Do not stand at my grave and weep

I am not there; I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,

这也据说是英文的最后版本。

而日文版本的来历，则和著名的小说家新井满有关了。他于2003年将这首诗日文化并谱曲，作为单曲《千の風になって a thousand winds》发布。其后一年也就是2004年，这首歌更被新井满收录到了自己的有声相册《千の風になって ～再生～》中。

而此后更是一发不可收拾，即便在日本国内也出现了好几个版本，其中比较著名的有04年新垣勉，05年宝冢剧团为纪念阪神大地震10周年的演唱版，06年秋川雅史，中岛启江版，《千の風になって特别单曲》版（这个版本没听过，不知道演唱者是谁，可能是秋川雅史吧，他的声音比较舒服，很适合CD化），宗田舞子版等。
